Description
To a certain extent, the swallow is the Engadiners' national animal, and they have even dedicated several songs to it. Swallow does not only refer to the bird, but also to the many Engadin people who had to emigrate for economic reasons in the past centuries. Plagued by homesickness, they returned to their homeland during the summer only to leave again in the autumn - just like the birds.
Now seven panels in Lavin shed light on the life of the birds and contrast this with the life of a human swallow, thus also providing an insight into the history of the village.
The introductory board is located at the Volg shop, the coloured birds on the ground lead to the others. If you can't find them all, don't worry, the boards are designed to work and be informative on their own.
