Souleymane has fled Guinea and is trying to apply for asylum in France. As he has no passport, he urgently needs money to get his papers. To make ends meet, he works as a bicycle courier for a food delivery service in Paris under hair-raising conditions. He only has 48 hours until his appointment with the migration office. In L'Histoire de Souleymane, Boris Lojkine creates a highly suspenseful and moving drama about migration, the gig economy and life in a big city. For his portrayal of Souleymane, Abou Sangare was named best leading actor in the Un Certain Regard series in Cannes.
