Swiss director Vadim Jendreyko makes his way through the continent, following in the footsteps of its turbulent past. In the course of his journey, he meets a wide variety of people, listens to their stories and songs. He delves into dark chapters of the distant and recent past to capture the glimpses of light that give rise to hope. These are surprising encounters, far removed from the polarizing political noise, which open up new perspectives.

Whether conductor or general, bird researcher or geologist - from Athens, the birthplace of democracy, to the Norwegian Arctic Ocean, this personal essay film captures the most diverse voices and nuances. In the end, they form a polyphonic chorus that proclaims tolerance and confidence in a common future.
