ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST

When newlywed Jill arrives at her husband's farm, she finds him and his children dead. They have been murdered by the ice-cold killer Frank on behalf of a railroad contractor who has the farm in the way of his construction project. But Jill has no intention of giving up her land and fights back against Frank. She is supported by the outlaw Cheyenne and the taciturn Harmonica, who, however, seems to be pursuing his own goals.
At the center of Sergio Leone's monumental late western is Claudia Cardinale, who as Jill is a strong, multi-layered female character and proves to be the real protagonist, as she forms the interface where the three male characters meet. Her combative widow triumphs over all the men and has gone down in film history.
