In Lignan, a small village in the Saint-Barthélemy Valley in the Aosta Valley, there is an astronomical observatory. The large telescope towers over the small mountain community like a bell tower or lighthouse. In late fall, astrophysicist Paolo Calcidese is the only winter resident to move into the facility to carry out his scientific research and experiment with new technologies. However, due to a technical problem, he is forced to leave the stars and solitude behind to devote himself to other, previously unconsidered forms of life: humans.
