Description
The unique Macun lake plateau with more than 20 mountain lakes of various sizes is situated within the Lavin municipality. The lake plateau is part of the Swiss National Park and is home to a large ibex colony, making it a particularly good vantage point from which to spot the “king of the Alps”. And while the deep blue mountain lakes are certainly the main attraction, the views of the surrounding peaks of the Silvretta range are equally captivating.
The ascent already offers wonderful views stretching as far as the Upper Engadine. Up on the plateau itself, it is well worth making a small yet rewarding detour to the Lai dal Dragun, a lake which, according to legend, is home to a little dragon.
