Description

At the Ardez railway station, the route leads northwards to the main road and follows it in an easterly direction to the edge of the village. Here the path turns left and leads over the field to the right past the schoolhouse and in two curves to the junction towards Chanoua. Already here you have an impressive view of the castle ruins over the rooftops of Ardez into the Val Sampuoir and Sur En on the opposite side of the valley. From here, the path climbs steadily to the ruins of the Sust/Säumerstation Chanoua, where a short rest with a view up the valley is worthwhile. A few meters further on, looking east on the right side of the Inn, you can see the proud Tarasp Castle and the hamlets of the village. The path follows the road for about 2 km and leads right into the forest at the parking lot in front of the Hotel Paradies, past the hotel and the old mill to the hill Nügla on the southwestern outskirts of Ftan. After passing Ftan with its typical village squares and proud Engadine houses, the path leads steadily gently sloping to Scuol to the destination of the stage.

If time permits, a short detour to the castle hill of the Steinsberg ruin is recommended in Ardez. Or in Ftan a visit to the toboggan run and airboard slope at the Ftan-Prui chairlift.
