Our rhythm - nos tact

Presentation of a piece of music at the Chamonna Lischana

Sommerkampagen_Dillon_Rune
This summer, we asked you to share your favourite sound with us. Over 2,500 favourite sounds were sent in and a few of them were recorded in three discovery tours through our holiday region in the Lower Engadine, Samnaun and Val Müstair. Music producer Dillon Rune has transformed these favourite sounds into unique melodies of our holiday region and captured its diversity in music. We are looking forward to presenting the album ‘Nos Tact’ on 26 July 2024.

First voyage of discovery from the Lower Engadine to Val Müstair

Our first musical journey of discovery began on the Rhaetian Railway - because Erica's favourite sound is the old train bell. Although we were unable to record it, as these trains no longer travel to Scuol, we captured the Rhaeto-Romanic announcement as the train entered Scuol. This will also be the start of our piece of music, which Dillon Rune has produced from all these favourite sounds. In Scuol, we experienced the soothing bubbling of water and hissing of stones in the Bogn Engiadina - Claudio's favourite. After a long drive to Val Müstair, we recorded the tapping sound of butter being made at the Chascharia Val Müstair, Janic's favourite sound. In the idyllic courtyard of the UNESCO World Heritage St. Johann Monastery, we heard the gentle ringing of the bell - Dorothea's favourite sound, which calls the nuns to prayer. In the abbey church itself, we were even allowed to record the nuns' prayers. In the unique soundscape of the Tessanda hand weaving mill, we experienced many different favourite sounds, especially the rhythmic sounds of the looms. We discovered more rhythmic sounds in the rustic atmosphere of the Muglin Mall and recorded the sound of water at the mill wheel in the garden. In the Swiss National Park and the National Park Centre, we listened to natural sounds, from footsteps in the national park to birdsong and other animal sounds. Our trip ended at the youth hostel in Scuol, with a fitting finale of toasting with a beer - Tobi's favourite sound on this journey of discovery. Was your favourite sound included?

Second voyage of discovery in the Lower Engadine

Our second voyage of discovery began with the sound of a Calanda beer being opened against the majestic mountain backdrop of the Motta Naluns. It led us on to the rattling of the chairlift and the sounds of the stream below in Ftan and on to the soothing sounds of nature around the ‘Aua da Nuna’ river, which can be reached on a beautiful hike. In addition to the sounds, we were also able to utilise other sensory perceptions when baking nut cake and later enjoyed a unique pizza from the old wood-fired oven. The crackling of the fire was also named by many as a favourite sound. Renato welcomed us later at the Inn for a session of fly fishing. Intoxicated by the sounds of fishing in the Inn, we travelled back in time to Tarasp Castle, which was built in 1040, where we were able to record Chiara's favourite sound. We travelled back to Vulpera with the characteristic three-note horn of the Postbus - a very often mentioned favourite sound. On the golf course, we concluded our second tour with a golf tee shot with a marvellous view of Ftan. Was it your favourite sound?

Third discovery tour in Samnaun and the Lower Engadine

ur third voyage of discovery started in Samnaun with the most frequently mentioned favourite sound, namely the whistling of the marmots. We were also able to record Martin's favourite sound, the sound of drones during a fawn rescue. The sound of cowbells in our holiday region was also cited by many as a favourite sound, which is why we were able to record them at Christian's picturesque pasture. On our trip, we also put our hitting skills to the test on the disc golf course so that we could record Bernhard's favourite sound. Afterwards, we went on a bike tour together with Jasmin. After lots of adventure, we rounded off the trip in Samnaun with a culinary highlight at the Sonnenhotel Soldanella-Sonneck and Marie-Louise's favourite sound - a toast with glasses of wine in the wine cellar of the Chasa Montana. Before we started the ascent to the highlight of our trip to present the piece of music, we were able to discover Jon Domenic's favourite sound in the Lower Engadine at the Funtana Cotschna and round off our journey of discovery with a glass of Prosecco at the Hotel Bellvedere in Scuol. Our next trip will take us up to the Lischana hut - for the presentation of our piece of music made from your favourite sounds.
